One job per URL - that is the whole trick
Information architecture for a medical website
Most clinic sites fail before the design starts. Three service blurbs share one title. The blog cannibalizes the consult page. IA is the URL map: one primary query per page, internals that pass weight to money pages, and nothing in the nav that should stay a campaign landing.
Homepage
Brand and the next click. It does not try to rank for every service in the practice.
Service / money pages
One offer, one H1, title aligned with the query. This is where consults come from.
Support pages
Informational URLs exist to answer leftover questions and link up. They do not steal the money title.
Orphans on purpose
Ad landings stay out of the site graph. If it is in the nav, you meant it to rank.
List the queries
What patients type, what Google already shows in Search Console, and which of those are commercial.
Assign one URL
If two pages want the same title, one of them is deleted or demoted. No "we will just write both."
Wire the links
Descriptive anchors. Breadcrumbs. Hub to spoke and back. Footer stays short.
Then copy
Writing into a locked map is how you avoid a 40-post blog that ranks for nothing you sell.
