Inventory first - theme later
Do not redesign until you know what already ranks
A new theme on new URLs is how a practice donates five years of equity to a 404. Crawl first. Find the pages that already earn impressions, the ones that cannibalize each other, and the canonicals that point at the wrong host. Then decide rebuild, repair, or leave it alone.
Crawl
Index coverage, title collisions, four H1s from a page builder, and the money queries already in Search Console.
Map
One primary query per URL. Informational pages support the consult pages. They do not steal the title.
Decide
Keep the URL if it has equity. 301 if you must move it. Do not invent a new slug because the designer liked it.
Then glass
Mobile-first, Core Web Vitals, copy that matches how you actually practice. Pretty is last on purpose.
Before you spend
Our site is ugly. Is that enough reason to rebuild?
Ugly that still ranks is a skin job, not a new IA. Ugly that is slow, mixed-intent, and unindexed is a rebuild. Search Console tells you which one you have.
Can we keep WordPress?
Yes. The problem is usually Avada sliders and four H1s, not the CMS. We will say so if the host or the builder is the actual bottleneck.
What about a new domain?
Almost never. A new domain throws away the entity Google already knows. Fix the site you have unless there is a legal or brand reason you cannot keep it.
Send the current URL
We will tell you rebuild, repair, or leave it before anyone opens Figma.
One call. Real numbers. No pressure.
